Deep within myself, I am like a tree That sprouts with leaves of original beauty And branches of love, courage, intelligence and more beauty. I also sprout with twigs of peace & gentleness. I send these twigs out to clean up this world’s mess With a hope that a kind soul receives & uses them wisely. Before I was a lovely tree, I had been given twigs But not like the ones that I sent out. Remember this painting from a little over a year ago? Well, I have an exciting announcement to share with all of you. Just last year, I was paid in royalties by a family/sex therapist who happened to be a friend of my sister's and had asked to use this painting in a conference she was speaking at. I wasn't paid very much, but it felt so good that my artwork was being shared and spread across from one place to another. This experience boosts up my confidence within me as an artist, one of my greatest passions.

Babylon 5 premiered in 1994 after the pilot film The Gathering took place in 1993, thus beginning a memorable yet challenging adventure into outer space where a space station called Babylon 5 was built and designed to bring together humans & aliens in order to maintain peace & harmony between the races. So far, I have enjoyed most of the episodes that I had seen on Babylon 5 while there are a few that I prefer not watching again because they have meanings or plots I have conflict with. However, I do appreciate each episode teaching important morals and lessons that we all need to learn whether we agree with them or not. I had dealt with bullying since I was a little girl. Pieces of crumpled-up paper and erasers were thrown at me in grade school during classes. But, the worst things that were thrown at me were the words that were meant to hurt me, degrade me and discourage me. I had been called lots of mean hurtful names that I can remember—‘stupid,’ ‘retard’ and ‘dummy.’ I’d been excluded, ignored and ditched by my peer groups, including those older than me because I wasn’t good enough or ‘normal enough’ in their eyes. Because of my autism, I didn’t fully understand the social behaviors of those around me, including the people who bullied me. When I would see my peers, sometimes they would do something mean to me but also pretend to be nice to me. It was hard for me to tell whether they cared or not. It was a day that started out like any day on September 11, 2001. Everyone went about their daily routine—waking up in the morning, getting dressed and ready for the day, leaving home to head for work, school, or to run errands, or to travel to places that people were destined to be. Nobody expected anything to go wrong that day—not even terribly wrong. But on that day, something went terribly wrong. At 8:46 a.m. in New York City, an airplane crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. At first, everyone thought it was an accident. But when another airplane hit the South Tower, we all knew it wasn’t an accident. It was an attack on America. It was an attack planned and intended to hurt America, to break America and to destroy America. Not only did tragedy & horror strike at the World Trade Center, but they also struck at the Pentagon and in a field at Pennsylvania. Why is there so much destruction in the world? Why do some people rejoice in violence, rejoice in seeing people get hurt and suffer their pains? What joy is there in such violence and pain?             Why does the world tell us lies to turn people against the good that exists in the world? Why does it tell us that being good is bad while being bad is good? Why does it put shame on those who stand out in doing good?             I believe I know the answer as a Christian. We live in a world where forces of good and evil exist, and we are faced as individuals with the decisions to either follow good or evil. We each have the power to decide our paths. I believe this to be true, even though some other people may not agree. Completion Date: Nov/12/2017 As you can see, a man and a woman are making love and there's the sun shining behind them. The message behind this painting is, sex is a sacred and beautiful gift given by God because it's a physical expression of love between two people who accept each other not only for who they are, but also accept their physical features. If you look at the couple closely, how they embrace each other looks like a heart. A couple of more messages behind this painting include: (1) sex should only be done as an act of love within marriage, not out of lust or just for fun, and (2) we shouldn't be ashamed of having feelings or desires to have sex, including having it with someone we love because that's how we express love. It's just best that we do it at the right time and in the right place.
